Origin

How the studio started

Born in Mumbai, 2023, out of frustration with mass-produced footwear. Started as a personal hobby — founders customizing their own sneakers with Angelus paint. Friends and Instagram followers asked for pairs. Hobby became studio.

Heritage of artists

Mumbai has been a working city for painters, illustrators, Bollywood backdrop artists and signwriters for generations. That muscle memory — the willingness to spend a week on a single panel — is what we draw from. Our brushes are new. The craft tradition behind them is not.

Collectors in Mumbai can book a slot to come by the studio, handle the leather, smell the Angelus paint, and watch a pair in progress. A custom sneaker is a long commitment. Seeing the room it is painted in changes the conversation.

There are plenty of places to print on a shoe. There are very few places in India painting sneakers freehand at edition quality. We chose the harder craft on purpose, and the city rewards that choice.
